This Is Us

This Is Us is an American family drama created by Dan Fogelman. It ran on NBC for six seasons, from September 2016 to May 2022.

It follows the Pearson family across different timelines: Jack and Rebecca when they're young and recently married, the childhood of their three kids (Kevin, Kate and Randall), and the kids as adults in their thirties. You get to see the perspective of each one of them.

A father worth looking up to

They're all very imperfect, and their worldviews are something I disagree with.

But it's one of the only shows where the father is a good role model. He's not a Homer Simpson or a Phil from Modern Family. Instead, he's an admirable man with the ability to overcome his flaws and addictions, and to have a self-sacrificial love for his family.

It's a very moving show. Even if you don't commit to it all, I highly recommend you watch the first episode.
